New on Sertraline. Definitely having some side effects. But not as intense as Lexapro was. Has anyone tried Sertraline after Lexapro? Lexapro had sexual side effects. Hoping this is different.

3 week on Sertraline
Yes, it works for me and takes the edge off of worrying thoughts
Hi Mark,
I was on Lexapro for years but felt it had stopped working so was put on Sertraline at the beginning of December. I've not had any sexual side effects but for the first four weeks my anxiety was dialled up to 11. I was catastrophizing everything which eventually calmed down. The next month the negative thoughts took over as did a constant feeling of being spaced out. I was on the brink of giving up on it but a friend told me to persevere. I'm now 11 weeks on 50mg. I'm still not convinced that I'm on the right dosage and have the option to increase but my anxiety has lessened and the negative thoughts still appear but are less intense.
Hope things go well
Thank you. I am definitely having a similar experience so far. We shall see how it goes.
be patient it will work takes a long time. Dont increase too early l waited several months increased and felt worse so decreased to 50 feel so much better .
I've been on Sertraline 100 mg and Clonazepam 1mg for the past twenty years. Had severe panic disorder. Now panic free but depression has taken its place. For me Sertraline has never worked without Clonazepam. Can't perform daily chores without Clonazepam.Although Sertraline, like all SSRIs, can cause sexual side effects, I find it preferable to the debilitating anxiety and depression I experience without medication.
