I've just been prescribed a new inhaler called Fostair (Fostair 100micrograms/dose / 6micrograms/dose inhaler (Chiesi Ltd), ASTHMA: (beclometasone dipropionate / formoterol fumarate). I previously used Seretide (and salamol reliever) in the past I've never had a combination inhaler before, just wondering

asthmatic response to new rug made in India
I bought a new, woollen rug shortly before Christmas 2023. It immediately caused me to go from being virtually free of asthma symptoms to being in need of steroid inhaler and frequent ventolin doses - I was very short of breath, my lungs were irritated and when exercising, swimming or walking, I’d

Trimbow / Fostair
Can anyone confirm my understanding please? I can't take fostair, it gave me awful palpitations, tremors and excess mucus to the point I felt like I was drowning when I lay down so it was quickly stopped. I saw a respiratory consultant recently and as most other inhalers have already been tried he suggested

Hello Has anyone had problems with the Formoterol in Fostair MART therapy (100/6) x 1-2 puffs x 2 daily. I was changed over to this in August last year as was not fully controlled on Clenil/SABA. When I started it i had a mucus cough and was reviewed a month later and put on A/Bios as it was considered

Any views on Trelogy Inhaler
Good morning I have seen some really good reviews on the inhaler Trimbow today but am reluctant to try it as whenever I have tried an inhaler with formoterol n it I have had problems. I would like to try Trelogy does anyone have any information on it and do you need to be at a certain stage in COPD

Why is my peak flow dropping & should I be worried?
Hi. I'm new here. The average peak flow for my age, height & gender should be around 400. Before lockdown, it was around 350 but has been dropping since an exacerbation in May. This morning, it was at 160. I'm not a smoker, but do have open gas fires, have just bought two air purifiers and exercise

International study suggests alternative treatment for mild asthma
A large international study led by a McMaster researcher has found a patient-centric treatment that works for people with mild asthma. People with mild asthma are often prescribed a daily treatment regimen, but up to 80 per cent do not follow the routine, using inhalers only when they have an asthma

Fostair: virtues & vices
Hello everyone! I'm a lifelong asthmatic and for most of this time I've been on Seretide 125. However, three years ago I started to devlop a chronic producitve cough (CPC). This persisted until I switched to Fostair 200/6. Thankfully the CPC has stayed away, however I'm having issues with the Fostair

Formoterol and Albuterol
Hello again I'm on, and trailed Symbicort and Fostair (2xam, 2xpm and sometimes 1x dinner time) combi inhalers. I know the Formoterol side of the drug is a long acting bronchodilator but I was wondering if being on these, long term (or any term) has an affect on albuterol effectiveness? Does anyone find

Triple Inhaled Therapy at Two Glucocorticoid Doses in Moderate-to-Very-Severe COPD.
Triple fixed-dose regimens of an inhaled glucocorticoid, a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA), and a long-acting β2-agonist (LABA) for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) have been studied at single dose levels of inhaled glucocorticoid, but studies at two dose levels are lacking. Triple

Fostair - So far so good!
Well Peeps, day 3 of the previously dreaded Fostair on the advice of my GP practice Pharmacist/Respiratory Nurse, & no side effects whatsoever. What I was dreading was similar to the previous 'maintenance' inhalers, Tiotropium & Aclidinium, both of which delivered a paradoxic reaction & had to be stopped

Fostair and Levothyroxine Interactions?
Been prescribed levothyroxine 50mcg daily for hypothyroidism. Noticed that the leaflet for Fostair and Levothyroxine both show a possible warning for taking both of them together. The fostair leaflet says this... Medicines for treating Parkinsons disease (L-dopa), to treat an underactive thyroid gland
