Amitriptyline - a good idea?
My GP’s only suggestion is that I go on a course of
amitriptyline
(low dose) as it is meant to help with head pains, but I am concerned of its side effects and of course don’t want it to lead onto more serious issues down the line (links have been made to dementia which scares the crap out of me).

Swollen hands - worsening Raynauds or something else?
I take
Amitriptyline
for chronic migraines so was advised to increase dose to 100mg to see if this helped with the pain which it did. But since Christmas my hands are now swelling up, especially my right hand.

Just a moan
She prescribe me 10mg
amitriptyline
. These have not helped me in anyway. Fast forward to last week and I received my hospital letter. The consultant has wrote that ' my fibromyalgia is surfacing'. I've had lupus and RA for 5 years now. No one has ever mentioned fibromyalgia to me.

Newly diagnosed-fibromyalgia and connective tissue disease
The treatment recommended by the rheumatologist is
Amitriptyline
and steroid injection. I have been on various medications throughout my life and I would like to know: 1. If anyone has been on the
Amitriptyline
and steroids and if you had any side-effect? 2.

So I get home and 9pm rolls around I get a drink and take 1 10mg
Amitriptyline
see if this helps me get a half decent sleep without suffering with back pain.

I don't have swelling of joints, only stiffness and clicking, plus muscle fatigue. Rheumy still considers 55 Is too young for it to be PMR?
I'm concerned that being treated for PMR with Prednisolone and
Amitriptyline
could well mean my true condition 🤷🏻♀️ (whatever that may be) is not being addressed.

A quick update
Talked about
amitriptyline
again but I refused. I don't need it....I'm sleeping fine. So.... I'm now somewhat bemused by it all.

Is this a common form of RLS
Hi I’m 14 months off
amitriptyline
and struggling with a raft of psychological and physiology symptoms. One of the worst is an inner agitation/edge/restlessness. It starts with a horrible nervy sensation in the shins or calves of both legs.

Does Gapapentin work for fibromyalgia?
I have been taking naproxen when needed and am replacing
amitriptyline
with gapapentin, The naproxen work well for the arthritis so can anyone give me any advice please. My fibromyalgia isn’t as bad as some of you and I am grateful for that but my shoulder and arm are the worst.

Amitriptyline
Amitriptyline
helped me so much. I have never really suffered with depression and mentioned this to him. He explained that this medication also helps so much with neurological pain which is what causes a lot of muscle pain and spine pain. I am still taking
amitriptyline
for this reason.

Return of symptoms after a colposcopy
Symptoms have been under control with the help of
amitriptyline
since then. However, symptoms have returned with a vengeance following a colposcopy. I had have smears and internal ultrasounds since my laparoscopy with no issues.

35mg taken in evening. As well as taking this I am taking pregabalin 100mg twice daily and Co-Codamol 15/500 when needed. But... I take levothyroxine 75mg for an under active thyroid and boy did it and the
amitriptyline

First time here - GP thinks I have Vasculitis
I also take 100mg
Amitriptyline
& 50mg Topiramate for chronic migraines, and 100mg Levothyroxine for hypothyroidism (possibly central as pitutiary problem). I'm also being investigated for POTS, have had a positive tilt table test and awaiting other tests to rule out heart problems.

Anyone received Incapacity or incapability to work?
The problem is I don't take anything except occasional
amitriptyline
, have no referrals to any clinics (was referred to physio by rheumy in past but turned it down as I was going through a 'good patch') and feel that they are going to assume that I am not really struggling or in pain, which isn't true
