ET + Anagrelide
Now that I'm on
Anagrelide
(0.5mg twice a day) my platelets are in the 600,000's and I seem to tolerate it ok. However I deal with rapid heartbeats, headaches, fatigue, mood swings and dizziness. I know the benefits outweigh the side effects but it can be very defeating.

Anagrelide success 😃
I have successfully transitioned to
Anagrelide
in the last 10 weeks, a dose of 200mg a day is starting to work… my recent 4 week blood test results showed my platelet count has dropped 200 to 844 😃😃🙌 which I know is still high but if this rate continues I will be in the normal range in the next few

Should I change my medication
We discussed changing my meds to
Anagrelide
but having read about all the side effects I am in a dilemma as to what to do. Has anyone out there changed from hydroxycarbamide to
Anagrelide
with success.

Hydroxyurea and Anagrelide
Goid evening, I visited a local hematologist this week, not my MPN specialist, due to non coverage and he suggested trying combo of Hydroxyurea and
Anagrelide
. Has anyone used this combination for treatment of ET?

Does anyone deal with chronic headaches with ET JAK2?
I was planning on starting low dose
Anagrelide
, .5 mg 2x daily, after the month off HU. However, I am aware headache and palpitations can be an issue with it, I also have Paroxysmal AFib so I take a blood thinner.

Switched from hydroxy to anagrelide advice.
Have been put on
Anagrelide
& 1 epotein injection per week to try & prevent further transfusions. Consultant explained this leaves me prone to thrombotic events, but I do take Apixiban. My ignorance makes me wonder what happens to white platelets in my body, without the help of hydroxy.

Clinical Trial Exceed ET
It goes on to say if you were on HU or
anagrelide
you will follow a pre-specified dose-tapering schedule. Not sure if that means your dose of HU,
Anagrelide
, or the Interferon. My question is for people already taking this drug. What is your dosage and frequency of use?

should I start interferon?
The result was that I had grade 2 bone marrow scarring and she took me off the
Anagrelide
and put me back on Hydroxycarbamide. However, she also suggested that I consider starting Peg- Interferon.

ET: Changing from HU to Jakafi or an Interferon treatment
In view of the toxicity of HU, I requested changing to
Anagrelide
(which here in Switzerland costs about 5 times the price of HU), as I'd heard that
Anagrelide
specifically targets platelets, and in my case it certainly did: they went down to 254!

Advice about Hydroxycarbamide/ Anagrelide please
He said they may need to overlap with hydroxycarbamide or
Anagrelide
. Has anyone else not responded to interferon ? I don't want to take hydroxycarbamide because I'm scared of the side effects and I really am not good with tablets.

CALR INCA033989 Antibody Trial
I was on
anagrelide
for the first two years, then peg for four years. The weakness started in 2020 at same time as a mild TIA and mild cardiac issue, and same time my allele burden was on the rise up to 50% at time weakness started.

Anagrelide in UK and in the USA😱
I asked at the hospital pharmacy whether
Anagrelide
could be to blame, as I half remember reading that it could cause a thinning of the surface membranes within the body. I was also under the impression that the USA had discontinued using
Anagrelide
, and wondered why.

milk thistle works!
The increase also happened previously from taking hydroxyurea first and
anagrelide
second which resulted in other bad side effects while treating ET JAK2. Then hematologist had me see a liver specialist.
