Question on PMR and Temporal Arteritis
Does anyone know: would an MRI show Temporal
Arteritis
or would a person need a biopsy to determine if Temporal
Arteritis
was present? Asking for a person newly diagnosed with PMR and in the ER dept was told she had Temporal
Arteritis
.

Vasculitus, a promising road ahead- let’s hope so!

Aortitis
I was diagnosed with non cranial Giant Cell
Arteritis
in September last year. So far I haven't managed to find anyone else with this condition because most people have the temporal version with the headaches.Mine is Aortitis which apparently is rare.

New diagnosis
Four years ago, I was diagnosed with Giant Cell
Arteritis
and, about 2 years later, Polymyalgia Rheumatica. My life has drastically changed between the pain and total exhaustion. Any words of advice would be most welcome.

PMR & GCA, 45 Years Ago
It was written in 1979, so I thought it might be interesting to see what the advice on PMR and GCA (aka "temporal
arteritis
") was back then. This first excerpt (see image) is for PMR. More to follow.

GCA Temporal/ Arteritis
I’ve had GCA for a little over a year now. I’m on Actemra injection only. It makes me feel a little woozy! Has anyone else had this feeling?

However polymyalgia rheumatica is not found through their opening page search although it is on the list as a vascular disease, as is giant cell
arteritis
. Maybe their search function is as useful as HU's (used to be)? :D Or maybe they just haven't got any research in their database yet?

Giant Cell Arteritis
I has a right temporal biopsy and was diagnosed with GCA in November 2023. I had been in handout of the hospital during the month of September and October, prior to the biopsy, with an array of symptoms such as fatigue, major weight loss, low grade fever, Koss of appetite and tremendous pain in jaw

A tragic but inspiring and heartwarming story about someone running to raise money for PMRGCAuk after a friend lost her sight from GCA
A big thank you to James Robinson who's running the Leeds Marathon in support of Kate, a family friend, who lost her sight due to giant cell
.
Help James raise money to support people with PMR and GCA. Help us to raise awareness so that no-one loses their sight from this disease.
