Calling all trainee heart surgeons

My name is Dr Richard Arm. My team and I create synthetic organs for surgeons to train on.

We've developed a new heart valve simulator that will be appearing on CBBC's Operation Ouch- A kids TV show on the BBC educating children about medical technologies and surgery and thought it would be nice to ask some real trainees to participate.

We need 2-3 medical students who might be familiar with aortic valve replacement techniques and would like to try the operation for 'real', in a risk free environment at our simulated surgical suite using our new synthetic cardiothoracic model (pictured above).

You need to be available from 9am to 1pm on 27th of June 2024 (that's one week from today) and be able to travel to our Clifton campus (at Nottingham Trent University) in Nottingham, UK.

I t will be voluntary work, but we offer you the opportunity to trial the next generation of medical models being piloted here in the heart of the UK.

PM me for more details or to book your space for free.

You may find this is taken down by the moderators. Please read the forum rules which advise there should be no requests for volunteers for medical trials. Personally I would have thought there are more appropriate sources to recruit medical students for your work rather than from an online community of people who have heart conditions.

Agree, seems a bit unusual to say the least? He does look like a genuine Dr but I find his post quite odd TBH.

Wow, let us know when it airs , it will be an interesting watch......Can't believe they are showing open heart surgery on kids TV though. How the world changes.

All a bit strange to me.

Dr Richard Arm from Nottingham University. Is a Senior Research Fellow in Art & Design.

But it does look legitimate if you read above.

I have reported this post. Before we know it, we will be having drug companies pushing drugs, private hospitals pushing operations, the list goes on. There must be a formal way you can speak to possible NHS surgeons 💁‍♂️
