Flucloxacillin 500mg

I’ve been prescribed Flucloxacillin 500mg 4 x a day for an infection but I’m on day 2 now and I’m getting terrible burning in the throat right down into my stomach. This is concerning me as really burning 🔥. I can’t get In touch with Dr or pharmacist as there closed. I’m just worried about taking my next tablet in an hours time or should I wait until I’ve spoken to someone. Has anyone had this with these antibiotics.

Have you called 111 for advice ? If not I’d call them.

Yes I had about 5 courses this year due to constant infections and I got heartburn really bad. If I remember right you are meant to take it on an empty stomach. I found not laying down for about 30-45minutes after taking it helped and eating as soon as I could.

Thanks Karen so should I continue taking it or wait until I’ve spoken to my Dr. I’m just scared my throat will close up but it mainly the burning. I take it on an empty stomach and never lay down after it. It just scares me so apprehensive of taking next tablet. Did it make you sick as well or not just the burning feeling.

Sorry can’t advise whether to continue as not medical, if your unsure try and speak to someone. I did also feel sick too unfortunately.
