Suspected IBS
I've had IBS symptoms for about 15 years. At first I thought it was intolerance to a few foods, and cutting those out seemed to help. But the symptoms seem to get worse and more frequent as I age. I am now 42 and get scared to go out to eat or be in the office all day (thankfully I WFH 4 days a week)

Metaxalone.
I was diagnosed with PMR September 2023 but I'm unable to have steroids. Due to a heart condition I'm also unable to have Immuno suppresants. My Rheumy has now prescribed Metaxalone for pain relief. Reading the side effects I'm not sure I'm happy to take them as they can affect your kidneys and liver

Is it safe to take mesalazine/octasa long term?
Hi everyone, I'm Claire and was diagnosed with mild/moderative ulcerative colitis last year. Apart from an initial flare up (followed by diagnostic procedures leading to the diagnosis), my only symptoms have been an uncomfortable/slightly painful feeling in my stomach/upper intestine. My gastroenterologist

CRS4PC and Zytiga side effects ?
My hubby is 69 and recently started Zytiga three weeks ago and it seems that he has developed moderate fatigue and low appetite since one week ago. I’m wondering if this could be a side effect of the Zytiga or if anyone thinks it’s an immunity infection attack.

Colonoscopy
Hello, I’ve been having various bowel issues for the past few months, ie. constipation, bloating, slight pain in lower back, bit of diarrhoea and my Dr would like me to go for a colonoscopy. As there’s no bleeding, I assumed it could be something else. Am I wrong to think this? Any advice welcome

Antidepressants
Hi all, Increased anxiety has become one of my worst symptoms of B12 deficiency and (possible*) PA. I’m on 4 weekly B12 injections (Hydrocobalamin 1mg) on the NHS but I’ve not noticed any improvements so far. I’ve had the 6 loading doses and 2 further injections so far. SIBO and antibiotics
l am now feeling so out of my depth. Having been screened and cleared for obvious causes I have seen an NHS Consultant who says I am positive for SIBO. I have tried to work with low fodmap diet previously but without much success. My test with lactose was “equivocal” but a following one with glucose

laxido liquid
hello, for the past 6 months I’ve been suffering from bad constipation, my gp suspected diverticulitis and I have been referred to a specialist, I’ve now had my first appointment and waiting on a date for a colonoscopy. The doctor prescribed laxido liquid and I took my first dose on Monday, by Tuesday

Colon Journey
I thought I’d share my journey leading up to this point and I hope to continue to update as things move along. I hate it when nobody updates. Timeline: 12 years ago: After my first daughter turned 1 I went to the bathroom with blood in stool. It was super bright red and a lot. Went to the doctor and

hello Well.., diverticulitis is not nice at all. New to me and having got to age 64 fairly unscathed apart from anxiety, am feeling a bit vulnerable. Woke with abdo pain +++ and was away visiting family struggled on but when I got home pain was worse and went to see Dr. Given abx and pain subsided
